Advocate Gil Cherchi is a partner in the Corporate Law and Capital Market Department, at Weksler, Bregman & Co.

Gil joined the firm in 2011 and became a partner in 2018.

Gil is a skilled and experienced lawyer in the field of corporate law & the capital market, securities law, complex equity and debt financing, commercial transactions, mergers & acquisitions, financing arrangements.

His main specialization is in company and securities law where he provides advice, guidance and representation to a range of clients on all aspects of these areas. Gil counsels his clients on all the issues involved in raising equity and debt from the public and from institutional investors, on prospectuses, corporate governance, changes in corporate structure, transactions with controlling shareholders and on executive remuneration, including interaction with the various regulatory bodies and with Securities Authority in the context of the enforcement of administrative proceedings. Gil also provides guidance in complex, high profile transactions in the Israeli economy involving public companies, in which he employs a variety of corporate techniques such as mergers and tender offers.

Adv.  Cherchi’s clients include public companies whose securities are listed on the stock exchange, banking and finance corporations and private companies that operate over a variety of commercial sectors, such as residential real estate, renewable energy, software, commerce, and more. Gil was one of the firm’s team that guided the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Ltd. in its unique share offering, and he continues to provide it with his legal support in its day-to-day operations.

In addition, Gil provides ongoing legal counsel on securities law, including periodic and immediate reports to the Israeli Securities Authority and to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Ltd. as well as advice on commercial and corporate law, including complex transactions with controlling shareholders, commercial agreements, etc.

Gil has also served as company secretary for several public companies traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Ltd., and frequently supports his clients in this area.
